Four Round Mock with Trades

I hope that everyone had a Merry Christmas, here is a late present to rip up & tear apart.... enjoy I included four trades that altho are unlikely, I think would make sense. In my mock the Colts beat the Jags to move out of the #1 spot. The Rams trade the Browns the #1 pick for both of the Browns #1s, their 2nd & 4th in this years draft. The Dolphins trade their 1st, 2nd & 4th to the Jags. The Panthers trade their 1st & 2nd to the Redskins for the Redskins 1st & 4th. The Redskins trade two 2nds to the Patriots for the Saints #1

Round 1

1 Rams 2-14 Trade pick to the Browns - Andrew Luck QB Stanford

The Browns take advantage of having the opportunity to draft the best QB prospect since Peyton Manning. The compensation might seem low but the Rams are getting an additional 1st, 2nd & 4th all in this years draft to move down six spots & still be able to draft an elite player.

2 Colts 3-13 - Morris Claiborne CB LSU

The Colts take (arguably) the best CB in this years draft to fill their biggest non-QB need

3 Vikings3-13 - Matt Kalil LT USC

Christian Ponder needs some help, an elite LT would be a great start.

4 Jags 4-12 Trade pick to Dolphins - Robert Griffin III QB Baylor

The Dolphins trade up to get in front of the Redskins & draft an extremely talented QB. I think that Matt Moore has looked much better than he has been given credit for but the Dolphins need a player like RG III to energize their fan base, plus his potential is off the charts.

5 Buccanneers 5-11 - Dre Kirkpatrick

The Bucs took a big step backwards this season after looking very good last year. Ronde Barber is old & Taqib Alibs legal problems make this a logical pick altho Blackmon could have just as easily been the call.

6 Browns 5-11 Traded pick to Rams - Justin Blackmon WR Ok. St.

Sam Bradford gets an elite WR to help their anemic offense score some points.

7 Bills 5-11 - Riley Reiff T Iowa

Reiff will help keep Fitzpatrick upright & make some holes for the Bills running attack. He will most likely start on the Right side but should be able to transition to the left.

8 Redskins 6-10 Trade Pick to Panthers - Alshon Jeffrey WR South Carolina

The Panthers leap over Bears, Titans & Chiefs to grab a big time target to team up with Smith for Cam Newtons high powered offense

9 Dolphins 6-10 Traded pick to Jags - Jonathon Martin LT Stanford

Jaguars get some protection for Gabbert

10 Chiefs 6-10 - Luke Kuechly ILB B.C.

The Chiefs get a defensive QB who is highly intelligent, instinctive & a tackling machine.

11 - Titans 7-9 - Mark Barron SS Alabama

In a very weak Safety class, Barron is by far the best prospect & fills one of the Titans biggest needs

12 Bears - Michael Floyd WR N.D.

Big, fast & very talented WR for the Bears passing attack

13 Panthers 7-9 Traded to the Redskins - David DeCastro G Stanford

Redskins grab the best Guard prospect in the draft. A team that has always valued the offensive line positions finally begins to address the positions. DeCastro would be an excellent fit a ZBS scheme & would immediately upgrade the Redskins running & passing attacks.

14 Eagles 8-8 - Vontaze Burfict ILB A.S.U.

The Eagles are one of the few teams that IMO would use a high round pick on Burfict but they have both the coaching, the need & the veteran players to make this a very good choice.

15 Cardinals 8-8 - Quinton Coples DE U.N.C.

The Cardinals pick up an elite pass rusher who has the size & athleticism to be an elite 4-3 DE in the NFL

16 Seahawks 8-8 - Landry Jones QB Ok.

Altho Jones has dropped on many draft boards because of three very poor games he is still a very talented, big arm QB with prototypical size who could be great in Pete Carroll's offense

17 Raiders 8-8 Traded to Bengals - Trent Richardson RB Alabama

Bengals land a great RB who can do it all.

18 Cowboys 8-8 - Alfonzo Dennard CB Nebraska

The Cowboys are able to fix a huge hole in their defense with Dennard who when he is healthy is as good as any in this draft.

19 Jets 8-8 Nick Perry DE/OLB U.S.C.

Jets pick up another guy to chase Tom Brady

20 Chargers 9-7 Alameda Ta'ama NT Washington

Chargers pick up the best NT in this draft IMO. Maybe he can bring some intensity to a team that seems to lose focus

21 Giants 9-7 - Dont'a Hightower ILB Alabama

I am not to sure why the Giants D is under performing...injuries, coaching, I don't know but I think that Hightower would immediately make the entire unit better.

22 Broncos 10-6 Brandon Thompson DT Clemson

When Tim Tebow is your QB (& I like the guy), you need to keep on improving your defense

23 Texans 11-5 Cordy Glenn G Georgia

A big time talent to protect Schaub & open holes for Arian Foster.

24 Falcons 11-5 Traded to Browns traded to Rams - Devon Still DT Penn St.

Rams grab some serious D-line help

25 Bengals 10-6 Janoris Jenkins CB North Alabama

Some lucky team will get a very good player who has dropped because of character concerns. I think that even tho the Bengals have had problems in the past that Jenkins past is not significant enough to stop them from drafting a talented player at a position of need

26 Lions 10-6 - Zach Brown LB North Carolina

Lions grab a very good LBer to shore up a D that is strong up front but needs some help in the backfield

27 Ravens 11-5 - Courtney Upshaw ILB Alabama

Ravens finally grab the long term successor to Ray Lewis

28 Saints 11-5 Traded to Patriots traded to Redskins Ryan Tannehill QB Texas A & M

Redskins jump back into 1st Rd. to grab a QB that altho he is very raw has the tools, intelligence & athleticism to possibly become a very good starter in the NFL. He is a good fit for what both Mike & Kyle Shannahan value in QBs.

29 Steelers 11-5 - Mike Adams LT Ohio St.

The Steelers still need to do a better job of protecting their QB

30 49ers12-4 - Kendall Wright WR Baylor

There were a few reasons that RGIII was putting up ridiculous numbers & Wright is definitely one of them. Fast & very sure handed, he would look great in the slot.

31 Packers 14-2 - Bruce Irvin OLB W.V.U.

Who do you get for the team that has everything ??

32 Patriots 13-3 Dwight Jones WR North Carolina

Big, fast WR with good hands who could fill the same role that Moss did

Round 2

1 Rams - Andre Branch DE Clemson

2 Vikes - Zebrie Sanders OT F.S.U.

Vikings spend their 1st two picks on offensive lineman to shore up one of the worst lines in the league

3 Colts - Fletcher Cox DT Mississippi St.

5 Browns traded to Rams - Chase Minnifield CB UVA

6 Bills - Jarius Wright WR Arkansas

7 Bucs - Travis Lewis OLB Oklahoma

30 49ers - Billy Winn DE Boise St.

31 Packers - Peter Konz C Wisconsin

32 Patriots - Markelle Martin SS Oklahoma St.
