Doesn't seem to matter who the coach is, Tennessee football continues to be marred by off-the-field woes. This time it is starting safety Brent Brewer, who has been suspended from the team by coach Derek Dooley pending an investigation following domestic assault charges.
"Without knowing all the facts, any domestic incident warrants a suspension from all team-related activities until a thorough investigation is concluded," Dooley said. "We respect everyone's right to the legal process, but also acknowledge a greater standard of conduct associated with the privilege of being a member of the Tennessee football team."
That means both of Tennessee's returning starters at safety are off the team. Janzen Jackson left school to deal with personal issues earlier in the week. Brewer played in every game for the Vols last season, making 30 tackles, three passes defended and a fumble recovery.
