Steven Threet Quitting Football Due To Concussions, According To Report

Arizona St. Sun Devils QB Steven Threet won't play his senior year of football, according to a report by ESPN's Bruce Feldman. Threet has weathered four concussions and has been told a fifth could jeopardize his way of life. Three of those concussions occurred in the 2010 season.

Threet had an unusual college career, starting for Arizona State after transferring from Michigan, where he transferred to after leaving Georgia Tech. He left Atlanta after his position coaches left the school, and looked for a second change once an injury caused him to fall out of competition for the starting job in Ann Arbor. He soon chose the Sun Devils over Oregon State.

At Arizona State, Threet played like he'd finally found a home, throwing for 2,534 yards in 11 games. He's expected to graduate and obtain a position assisting Sun Devils quarterbacks, according to Feldman.
