Toronto Maple Leafs At The 2011 NHL Trade Deadline: Rumors, Needs And Expectations

Six points out of a playoffs spot, the Leafs still have a legitimate chance at the post season. But only if a lot of things go right for them between now and the end of the season. And the Maple Leafs general manager Brian Burke is nothing if a realist. But is he the glass half-full realist, or the glass is half-empty type? The trade deadline will reveal all.

Status: On The Bubble

Need: Puck-moving defenseman

Players On The Block: Clarke MacArthur ($1.1 million)

Prediction: The Leafs likely aren't done yet. Look for Burke to pull the trigger and get at least some depth. He'll be trying to work a deal up until the last minute, so you just never know what might happen. This is the time of year he lives for, so either to build or to make a run, Burke will make things happen.
