Suns Vs. Nets: Deron Williams' New Jersey Home Debut Spoiled By Channing Frye

On Sunday, Channing Frye beat the Indiana Pacers with a long jumper at the buzzer in overtime to break a tie and get the Phoenix Suns a win. Would you believe he did it again on Monday against the New Jersey Nets? Well, he almost did it again: Frye nailed a three with seven seconds left in overtime to give Phoenix a 104-103 lead it wouldn't relinquish.

Frye scored only seven points in the game, as Phoenix's bench came up big. Four Suns scored double-figures off the bench, led by Marcin Gortat's 17. But with the game on the line, it's helpful to have a big shooter who can get his shot off against anyone; Frye may not be consistent, but he can stroke it.

The Nets nearly won Deron Williams' home opener in Newark before a substantial crowd at the Prudential Center. Williams had 18 assists, many of them to Brook Lopez, who scored 28. Anthony Morrow is back in the starting lineup; he scored 22, and hit 5-10 threes.

In other action:

Bulls 105, Wizards 77: Chicago put Washington on rails early with a 10-2 run in the first quarter; the Wizards never led. Derrick Rose and Luol Deng had 21 points apiece.

Nuggets 100, Hawks 90: Denver got great bench play from J.R. Smith (19 points on 6-10 shooting) and Raymond Felton (16 on 7-12) in a win over Atlanta. The Hawks had a single-digit lead most of the game, but an 8-0 in the early fourth punctuated by a Smith three-pointer put Denver in control for good.
