Wenger also confirms that Johan Djourou's season is over after he dislocated his shoulder
The injury came as Djourou was defending a cross from the right by Wayne Rooney. Javier Hernandez came from behind the play, attempting to get a foot onto the ball. The resulting collision left Djourou on hos back, right arm extended from his body, with Arsenal goalkeeper Manuel Almunia immediately signaling to the bench that the defender had suffered a shoulder injury.
After eight minutes on the pitch, Djourou was taken off the pitch, leaving Arsenal with 10 men. Going forward, Arsenal will now have to rely upon Laurent Koscielny and Sebastien Squillaci in the middle, with Alex Song being next on the depth chart until Tomas Vermaelen can return.
