The Connecticut Huskies opened the 2011 Big East Tournament with a 97-71 win over the DePaul Blue Devils, perhaps UConn's first truly convincing win since the middle of February. Kemba Walker blew up for 26 points and seven rebounds, as is custom, while Jeremy Lamb kicked in 19 points and three blocks.
UConn gets another shot at Georgetown next, a squad that will be looking for a little revenge. The Huskies topped the Hoyas 78-70 in their only meeting this season, a game that ended Georgetown's eight-game winning streak and even put them into a late-season funk.
The Huskies are too talented of a team to be playing in the first round of this tournament, but dropping so many games down the stretch cost them. Today they doubled up DePaul on the boards, nearly accomplished the same feat in the field goal percentage column, and
