To Carolina: 28th Overall Pick this year.
Despite what everyone is saying right now, I still don't see that Panthers going with Blaine Gabbert or Cam Newton at 1 overall. Da'Quan Bowers is an absolute beast, and I've always been a proponent of building from the trenches out. So, the Panthers move up into the back of the first round to take Ryan Mallet. Despite his off the field issues, Mallet still has the talent to be picked late in the first or early in the second. Since Carolina doesn't have it's second round pick, which is with New England, they need to move up. And we all know Bill Belichek doesn't mind moving picks around.
To New England: Steve Smith, 65th Overall Pick this year.
Steve Smith still has the talent to put up numbers, but Carolina has major question marks at QB. Belichek moves back and picks up a guy who can stretch the field for him, and he still can command double-teams on the outside.
