Bayern Munich star Arjen Robben has been fined €15,000 and has had his two match ban confirmed by the DFB for the red card he received on Saturday.
After the final whistle was blown in the match against Nürnberg, Robben raced toward the referee to complain about a no-call on what he felt was a penalty earlier in the match. He was shown a red card by the referee. The Dutchman's subsequent apology to the referee and his club was not enough to spare him from the ban. This is Robben's first red card as a Bayern Munich player, his last coming nearly five years ago, when he was a member of Chelsea FC.
Bayern will now be without their star winger when the club face Bayer Leverkusen at home this weekend in a massive match for both sides. He will also be in the stands the following week when the club travels to Frankfurt.
