The Cleveland Browns are in an interesting position as the 2011 NFL draft nears. They think they might have their quarterback in QB Colt McCoy and there will be several players available at the sixth pick that fit positions of need for them.
The top two defensive tackles in the draft, Marcell Dareus and Nick Fairley, come to mind when thinking about the Browns 2011 NFL draft needs. In the SB Nation 2011 NFL mock draft, Dawgs By Nature selected Dareus.
Defensive line might be the biggest need that Cleveland has, but I think this class is deep enough that quality linemen would have still been available in the second round. With that said, after seeing the top two players on my draft board disappear, it isn't like I will be disappointed by the team grabbing an elite defensive lineman here in Marcell Dareus.
Of course if he's not there, and Fairley is, the Browns will have a decision to make. It's not clear yet if either of the top defensive tackles will be gone but if they're both there I think the Browns best bet is Dareus.
Then there's the possibility that a receiver, like A.J. Green is available. That would make their decision a little more difficult because, with a young quarterback, they need weapons on offense and Green fits the bill in that regard.
Defensive line may be the biggest need for the Browns but they'll have options on April 28. For more on the Browns draft day plans, check out Dawgs By Nature.
