There is no place in baseball for this type of behavior. People running onto the field during a game, throwing bottles and cans in the parking lots, throwing up on themself before the game starts and that's just a few examples. Now, in July 2009 a 28 year old Phillies fan was beaten to death outside of the stadium by other self proclaimed Phillies fans. Then on March 31, 2011 a Giants fan was beaten into a coma at Dodger Stadium by self proclaimed Dodgers fans. This goes beyond baseball and there just is no excuse for that type of behavior in life.
My suggestion to Major League Baseball is to stop all beer and alcohol sales inside and out on stadium property. Furthermore, there needs to be more active security in all stadium parking lots. Why does there have to be a bar connected to the stadium anyway? Don't get me wrong I like to enjoy a beer at the game as much as anybody, but a line needs to be drawn for the sake of safety. If you want to drink until you can't stand up anymore and see the game, go to a bar and watch it. At least you won't put my children in danger at the game. Sure, this might lower ticket and concession sales, but it will also allow the REAL FANS to bring their children to the game, root for their team (whether at home or away) and not worry about getting jumped in the parking lot.
Baseball is a great game that many people, myself included, has loved since we were kids. It's time for Major League Baseball to look into this issue and give the game back to the REAL FANS, and the new generations of REAL FANS. Stop catering to the people who see the ballpark as a place to get loaded and be a menace to this great game, and in some cases to society.
