Philippe Mexes has possibly played his last match in an AS Roma kit. The defender suffered a knock during Roma's defeat to Juventus on Sunday, pulling up with pain in the first half before having to be removed in the second. Turns out that twinge was the feeling of ligaments tearing in his left knee (ewwww) and now Mexes will likely have to miss between four and five months. Given that it is now April and the season ends May 22, it seems as though only a miracle will put Mexes back on the pitch this season.
With rumors swirling about of his eminent departure to AC Milan, Mexes' injury could mean we've seen the last of him in a Giallorossi kit. The France international has been rather inconsistent for Roma this season, so this injury may be a bit of a mixed blessing for the club as they try to work their way up from sixth into the Champions League positions.
