2011 Preakness Stakes Field: Animal Kingdom Benefits From Early Scratches

Another change in the 2011 Preakness Stakes field means another set of odds. Nehro pulled out of the Preakness on Tuesday, robbing the field of one of its better contenders and leaving Animal Kingdom as a significant favorite for Saturday's race at Pimlico. Before the development, Nehro held the second-best odds at 5-1, with Animal Kingdom favored at 5-2.

The current odds show a clear set of tiers, with a host of familiar names from the Kentucky Derby listed as contenders. At 2-1, Animal Kingdom holds the best odds, followed by Dialed In and Mucho Macho Man, who each hold 6-1 odds. Dialed In went off as the favorite at Churchill Downs but never factored into the race.

Shackleford has the fourth-best odds at 12-1, followed by a trio of horses, including Midnight Interlude, at 15-1. Isn't He Perfect is the long-shot at 50-1, along with Saratoga Red, though the latter is not yet guaranteed a spot in the field.

The latest odds from Daily Racing Form can be found below.
