Pablo Sandoval To Have Surgery On Tuesday, Says He'll Miss Seven Weeks

At some point during the San Francisco Giants' loss to the Washington Nationals on Friday night, Pablo Sandoval felt some pain in his right wrist, and a subsequent examination discovered a broken hamate bone. Now, from the man himself:

Surgery tomorrow 12:30

The surgery will remove the bone, which is in the part of the hand that rests on the knob of the bat, and Sandoval is expected to be out four to six weeks. While Sandoval tweeted that he's "gonna be back in 4 weeks.", he amended that tweet with a more ominous tweet that simply said: "My doctor tell me I be back in 7 weeks."

Sandoval, perhaps thanks to his now famous off-season weight loss, was one of the only Giants hitters doing anything positive early this season, as he was off to a hot start both at the plate and in the field. In his absence, the Giants are sliding shortstop Miguel Tejada over to third and starting Mike Fontenot at short. The Giants recalled infielder Ryan Rohlinger, who has experience at both short and third, to take Pablo's spot on the roster
