Preakness 2011: Picks, Predictions Focusing On Animal Kingdom Vs. Dialed In

Most Preakness picks for the 2011 race are going to come down to either Animal Kingdom or Dialed In, the top two contenders according to the current Preakness Stakes odds. Daily Racing Form's Steven Crist, for one, thinks Dialed In is the only horse with a chance to beat the Kentucky Derby champ, and he thinks he'll pull it off. He also likes Sway Away and King Congie.

The Baltimore Sun rounds up some Preakness picks and predictions from around the country, with two taking Animal Kingdom, one picking Dialed In and another prediction possibly overlooked Mucho Macho Man. The Washington Post's Andrew Beyer [video] says he had his heart set on Dance City as an overlooked contender, but that the Kentucky Derby changed his mind. He now has Animal Kingdom finishing just ahead of his longtime dark horse.

Also picking Animal Kingdom: Batavia Downs' Todd Haight, who also likes Dialed In and picks Flashpoint as his longshot, and The Rail's Joe Drape, who has Mr. Commons, Mucho Macho Man, Midnight Interlude and Dialed In rounding out his top five.
