At last, Bob Bradley and US Soccer have announced their 23-man roster for the upcoming CONCACAF Gold Cup. The morning began with the news that the roster release would be delayed and that Bradley's noon-ET conference call was being rescheduled for 3pm. American soccer fans seemed fairly unfazed by the delay, having gotten quite used to announcements from MLS and the USSF never being on time. Alright, enough being snarky, time to take a look at the group of players that will try to win to take back the Gold Cup title.
Not surprisingly, with a spot in the 2013 Confederations Cup on the line, Bradley's roster is light on MLS players and heavy on European-based players. Freddy Adu making the roster is a shock...quite honestly, I don't even know what to say about it. Real Salt Lake will not be happy about Nick Rimando being called-up I expect.
