Four North Carolina Tar Heels defenders are leaving the football program, the school announced Monday. They're leaving for a wide-ranging set of reasons, ranging from the sad to the hey-isn't-that-the-BB-gun-guy.
DB Brendon Felder is transferring to the Pittsburgh Panthers to be closer to his ailing grandparents, DT Jared McAdoo has been dismissed for violating team rules, LB Herman Davidson is transferring to another school for personal reasons and LB Shane Mularkey has decided to stop playing football after suffering a season-ending shoulder surgery.
When last we heard of McAdoo around these parts, we were impressed by his steady recession from a life of crime and into a life of mischief.
All of the players besides perhaps the injury-plagued Mularkey were expected to contribue on North Carolina's defense in 2010. McAdoo and Davidson could've perhaps even contended for starting positions had they elected to stick around.
