Animal Kingdom opened as the favorite in the 2011 Belmont Stakes, and has been the favorite throughout the week. The current Belmont Stakes odds, though, have other horses closing on the Kentucky Derby winner.
Animal Kingdom remains a 5-2 favorite to win the Belmont, but Nehro has closed from 5-1 to 7-2, and Master of Hounds has moved from 5-1 to 4-1. Even Preakness winner Shackleford, considered a long shot for most of the week, has had his odds drop, from 16-1 to 10-1.
Here are the current Belmont odds at around noon on Saturday after the early betting in New York.
1. Master of Hounds, 4-1
2. Stay Thirsty, 17-1
3. Ruler On Ice, 35-1
4. Santiva, 13-1
5. Brilliant Speed, 9-1
6. Nehro, 7-2
7. Monzon, 31-1
8. Prime Cut, 22-1
9. Animal Kingdom, 5-2
10. Mucho Macho Man, 7-1
11. Isn’t He Perfect, 34-1
12. Shackleford, 10-1
