Former Washington Huskies basketball player Venoy Overton's name has been included in a string of really unpleasant headlines, from a rape allegation that turned into a gross misdemeanor for supplying alcohol to a minor to Thursday's news that he's reportedly been arrested in connection with a prostitution investigation.
Specifically, Overton was arrested in Seattle "for investigation of promoting prostitution" last week for an alleged May incident. In the common parlance that practice is typically referred to as pimping, and it is a blight on just about any resume. Hopefully for Overton and UW fans this incident can also be dialed back somewhat.
Overton played four years for the Huskies, facing a suspension late in the 2011 season for that alcohol scandal and returning in time for the NCAA Tournament. We'd prefer to avoid having to write this kind of story about Overton again.
