Alen Stevanovic, who came to Toronto FC on a loan shortly after the start of the season, has been recalled by Torino FC of Italy's Serie B. His stint with TFC ends without much to show for his time in MLS. Stevanovic appeared 12 times, made nine starts and didn't register a single point. He did show flashes of quality, especially with speed down the wing, but never translated that into any kind of production.
"We are disappointed to see Alen leave our club. He is a good young midfielder and did some good things for us," Toronto FC Head Coach and Technical Director Aron Winter said in a statement released by the team. "We knew a recall was always possible and now the time has come to thank Alen and wish him well."
Stevanovic's contract is co-owned by Inter Milan, who signed him in 2009. He has made one appearance with Inter and eight with Torino since then.
