Three horses will have raced in all three legs of the Triple Crown as of this Saturday when The 2011 Belmont Stakes run. Kentucky Derby winner Animal Kingdom, Preakness winner Shackleford and Mucho Macho Man.
Trainer Kathy Ritvo is looking forward to the opportunity for her horse to take his turn in the winner's circle.
“I think he’s going to run well on this racetrack,” said Ritvo, who trains Mucho Macho Man for Reeves Thoroughbred Racing and Dream Team Racing Stable. “It’s a great place to train a horse. It’s a great place to run. And I think the distance is going to suit him well. He’s the kind of horse who wants to keep going.”
Mucho Macho Man finished third in the Kentucky Derby and sixth in the Preakness.
Mucho Macho Man worked five furlongs in a strong 59.57 seconds over Belmont Park's main track Sunday morning.
