Stephan Lichtsteiner Leaves Lazio, Joins Juventus

Stephan Lichtsteiner is officially a Juventus player, the club having agreed to a €10m fee to Lazio in exchange for the right-back's services. The Swiss international has spent the last three seasons with the Roman outfit, notching 100 appearances for Lazio. He was a constant in the team's quest for Champions League football, although they lost out in the last match of the season, settling for fifth place in Serie A while Udinese took the coveted fourth position.

The acquisition of Lichtsteiner should mean that Marco Motta, whom Juventus signed outright in June, will be moved on -- much to the relief of many Juve supporters. Former coach Gigi Delneri had a bit of a soft spot for Motta, although he was fairly early in matches by Frederik Sørensen. The young Dane, aged just 19, will likely remain with Juventus.

Lichtsteiner is certainly not the "big name signing" the Old Lady are seeking, however, so stay tuned for more on who's headed to Juventus. Sergio Augero? Mirko Vucinic? We shall see.
