Iowa State suspended center Jordan Railey, who was suspended following his arrest in April for fighting, has been reinstated to the team by coach Fred Hoiberg. Railey will, however, miss the first three games of the season as part of his punishment.
An Iowa State spokesman says Railey's disorderly conduct charge has been dropped as well.
Railey averaged 2.0 points and 1.5 rebounds as a freshman last season. He will be allowed to practice with the team, which is headed to Italy next month. However, Railey will be suspended for the exhibition season and the Cyclones' first three games of the 2011-'12 season.
Railey is one of only two returning frontcourt players for the Cyclones this season.
Railey avoided the same fate of fellow freshman Calvin Godfrey, who was dismissed from the team by Hoiberg after being found in possession of marijuana.
