Jose Reyes Injury: Mets Manager Terry Collins 'Unsure Of Severity'

New York Mets fans held their collective breath when Jose Reyes left Saturday's game with some kind of tightness in his hamstring. Reyes has been outstanding for the Mets during the 2011 campaign, and any long-term ailment could put a damper on the rest of the season. In short, the immediate reaction seemed to be "here we go again."

According to Ken Rosenthal, there's good news and there's just news when it comes to Reyes' injury. On the positive side, it's his left hamstring that's ailing this time, not the right hamstring he injury in 2009. But Mets' manager Terry Collins is unsure how serious the injury is, nor does he know how long Reyes will be affected.

On its own, tightness and cramping may not be a severe issue, but the Mets won't know for sure until Reyes is examined further. For now, it's a wait-and-see situation.
