During the Women's World Cup, my wife asked me what a US National Team men vs women game would look like.  As gently as I could muster I stated that size, speed and agility deficits would be way too much for ladies to overcome. She replied, "OK, but what about if they jumbled up the teams?" Sounds ridiculous, right?

The more I think about this seemingly preposterous idea, the more I realize that if I were flipping channels and came across it, I'd be immediately hooked. And imagine the soccer eugenics if a couple of the single players hooked up.

Don't get me wrong, I can't imagine this actually happening as a formal friendly.  Fun to think about, though.  Also, if there's ever a pickup game at a collective US Soccer event, I hope someone at least puts together a highlight reel.

If it were to happen, how would you setup the teams? Captains (Howard/Rampone vs Solo/Bocanegra) pick teams? Left/Right split so Rapino runs at Krieger while Dempsey runs at Lichaj? Singles vs 'Spoken-For's?

Also, what do you think the men could learn from their counter-parts and vice-versa?
