Barcelona Have Reportedly Reached Agreement For Alexis Sanchez

Can the (almost) most talked about deal in world football finally be reaching a conclusion? The Carlos Tevez saga has dominated the headlines over the past few days, but always in the background was the looming question of Alexis Sanchez. Would Barcelona and Udinese ever reach an agreement on a fee for the Chilean? Alas, for those that loved Sanchez in bianconeri, or even for those that thrive on drama, this soap opera appears to have reached a conclusion. Gino Pozzo, son of Udinese patron Gianpaolo, said today that an "agreement with Barcelona for Alexis Sanchez is complete".

The fee for el niño maravilla is reported to be €27 million upfront, which could rise to €43 million, depending on bonuses. Udinese have long been known as a selling club, but this deal certainly takes the cake, even if it is unlikely that the club will see the full €43 million. The zebrette will undoubtedly go forth and find 10 youngsters to buy for that price, allowing them to continue to survive as a small club in Serie A. Without Sanchez and Gokhan Inler, who moved to Napoli earlier this month, Udinese seem unlikely to qualify for the Champions League. But with money like that coming in, qualification almost seems a moot point.

As for Barcelona, well, now they'll be even more unbeatable. Yay.
