With a salary arbitration hearing set for Thursday, both the team and Dubinsky avoided the messy arbitration process. Rather than come away with a deal that would have been p for renegotiation in 1-2 years, both sides decided to squash the process and move forward.
Dubinsky was drafted by the Rangers in 2004 and has spent his entire pro career with the team. In five seasons in the NHL, he has 71 goals and 108 assists. Despite missing over a month due to injury, Dubinsky finished the 2010-2011 season with career highs in goals and points.
The Rangers are now expected to turn their attention to their only remaining unsigned restricted free agent, Ryan Callahan.
