There's more good news on the "It Gets Better" front: the Philadelphia Phillies have announced that they'll be the seventh Major League Baseball team to produce a video for the "It Gets Better" campaign, a series of videos meant to encourage kids who are abused and bullied because they're LGBT, or perceived to be LGBT.
↵Perhaps I'm being naive, but... well, of course, biases and bigotry will always be around for as long as there is humanity (at least, for as far as I can see). I look at the videos that have been produced, though, and I see a campaign that's far more compelling, convincing, and effective than, I don't know, the "READ" posters that showed Bo Jackson halfway through a Dickens novel, or Tony Gonzalez tending to trays of baked macaroni for the United Way.
↵Those are important causes, and so is this, but for one reason or another I'm perceiving a tone of genuine expression, of really, really wanting things to ease up for these kids, and that is a terrific thing to see.
