Speaking today at the Pac-12 media day, Stanford junior quarterback Andrew Luck announced that this would be his final season of college football.
Luck told reporters that he will enter the draft after the season and is "approaching it like such."
"(It) may have been the first time I said it, but I've always thought it," Luck told reporters.
Officially, the Andrew Luck sweepstakes has begun. If you go by some early preseason NFL power rankings, the likely candidates for Luck could be the Washington Redskins and Arizona Cardinals. The Vikings, Bengals and Panthers are also predicted to finish poorly, but each added a quarterback early in this year's draft.
Luck could have entered the 2011 NFL Draft and likely been the first overall pick by the Carolina Panthers. But he's glad to be back at Stanford.
"I've been very happy," Luck said. "I haven't had any regrets."
Unrelated, Luck had a wicked Amish beard for the media day. Spencer Hall of EDSBS goes on and on about it here. Enjoy?
