Butch Davis' Firing could Impact Draft Prospects

In what could be categorized as a major surprise, North Carolina fired their head football coach only a few weeks out from opening up camp.  Butch Davis and the University have been at the center of more than a few controversies involving academic fraud and extra benefits.  Last season several high profile players were suspended leaving behind a shell of a team that was expected to challenge for an ACC title.  Davis maintains that he had no knowledge of the issues but it wasn't enough to save his job.

This last minute coaching shake up could have an impact on several high profile draft prospects.  North Carolina boasts a hand full of talent players including Quinton Coples, Donte Paige-Moss, Zach Brown, and Tydreke Powell.  The last thing any football team needs is an unexpected coaching change.  Football is all about familiarity and routine which now is in jeopardy at North Carolina.  Each player will need to work on staying focused while not letting the coaching change impact their on the field play.
