Travis Pastrana laid it all on the line at the X-Games on Thursday night, attempting to throw a rodeo 720 in Moto-X Best Trick. It didn't work out so well. The first time out, Pastrana couldn't quite get squared up for the landing, coming down hard with the bike on top of him. But in typical Pastrana fashion, he headed right back up the ramp to try again, throwing the same trick just moments later.
He probably should've stopped after the first time. Instead, this happened.
That's Pastrana getting caught under the bike for the second time, but this time around was much worse. Instead of walking away unharmed, Pastrana immediately realizes he can't put weight on his leg, and for good reason. A few minutes later, he was telling the medical staff, and ESPN broadcasters, he'd broken his tibia and fibula, though he later backed off the claims and went in for x-rays.
Just this morning, Jay Pennell wrote about Pastrana begin committed to NASCAR despite his insistence on competing in Thursday's X-Games event. He was planning on making his NASCAR Nationwide Series debut this weekend, but those plans may be on hold.
