Below is video of the stoppage tonight of Fedor Emelianenko vs. Dan Henderson. There appears to be some controversy about it, so I encourage you to leave your view in the comments. Here's my sense: there is a gap between proper safety protocol by the referee and a fighter who is completely finished. If your argument is that Fedor seemed to recover when he went back down, you're technically right. The question is, though, did Dean act appropriately within the context of preserving fighter safety? It's hard to argue he didn't, and that includes being overly aggressive with safety to the point where you interfere with the fight's natural course.
I don't know if Fedor will retire, but my early impression is that the nature of the stoppage will compel Fedor to fight one more time.
