The college football season is creeping closer and closer which means it is time to start ranking draft prospects. These rankings will be subject to change throughout the season. Each week the players will either help or hurt their draft stock impacting the position ranking. Don't forget that someone always emerges and becomes a surprise top prospect, like Nick Fairley.
This group of tight ends features a few prospects that might only fit in a wide open passing attack. Michael Egnew is one of those prospects that can contribute in the passing game but might not be able to hold up in the running game. Such limited versatility could lead to some falling draft stocks. However, NFL teams are always looking for that next great mismatch.
After the jump, check out my preseason tight end rankings for the 2012 NFL Draft.
