If the first drive of the first preseason game is any indication, QB Philip Rivers has picked up right where he left off. The Chargers are hosting the Seattle Seahawks in their first preseason game and Rivers looked sharp completing 5-of-6 passes for 87 yards and a touchdown pass to Mike Tolbert.
WR Vincent Jackson, who returned to the team under the franchise tag after sitting out more than half of last season, caught two balls from Rivers for a total of 54 yards, including a 48-yarder.
The Chargers were one of the best offenses in the league last year. Rivers threw for over 4,700 yards, completed 66 percent of his passes and finished with 30 touchdown passes. If he's on, the Chargers are going to be competitive in the AFC West.
The Chargers lead the Seahawks, 7-0, in the second quarter. Check out Bolts From The Blue and Field Gulls for more on the game.
