Oakland Raiders Want Terrelle Pryor To Play WR, According To Report

Stay connected with SB Nation

2011 Supplemental Draft pick Terrelle Pryor has been saying for a while now that he'd prefer to play quarterback in the NFL, but that he's willing to do whatever it takes to help his new team win. That team is the Oakland Raiders, which already features a decent young QB in Jason Campbell, along with ... well, with some backups.

Pryor's passing mechanics and decision-making, coupled with his size and speed, had more than a few scouts pegging him as a receiver in the pros. The Raiders appear to agree with that assessment, according to John Clayton. If Oakland likes anything, it's speed, and putting Pryor out wide next to Jacoby Ford and company could produce some interesting sets.

Pryor caught three passes in his Ohio State career, gaining 20 yards, five yards and minus-one yard along with two touchdowns. He'll have at least as much to learn in order to play WR as he would to become a suitable backup QB, but he's proven himself to be a versatile athlete.
