Mike Patterson Telling Eagles He's Fine

There was a scary situation out at LeHigh University, site of Philadelphia Eagles training camp, this afternoon. Eagles DT Mike Patterson collapsed on the field apparently going into convulsions at one point and was taken away in an ambulance.

Here's the good news: Patterson is telling team employees he's fine, according to Bob Glauber who is reporting from Eagles training camp. Eagles trainer Rick Burkholder confirmed he had a seizure though they wouldn't speculate on what caused it. He's undergoing tests now but it "alert and stable" at the hospital.

Whew. This is the best news of the day. It was just this week that the Vikings remembered Korey Stringer, who died 10 years ago after collapsing on the practice field.

It's unclear what the time table for Patterson's return is but all that matters for now is that he's telling people he's OK.
