Carl Edwards: Lone Cup Driver entered: The US Cellular 250 Preview

FORT WORTH, TX - APRIL 16: Carl Edwards drives the #60 Fastenal Ford during practice for the NASCAR Nationwide Series O'Reilly Auto Parts 300 at Texas Motor Speedway on April 16, 2010 in Fort Worth, Texas. (Photo by John Harrelson/Getty Images)

You read that headline correctly, Carl Edwards is the only Cup Driver entered this week.

Brad Keselowski pulled out of the race following a hard crash while testing at Road America on Wednesday. Sam Hornish will take the reigns at Iowa. This leaves just Carl Edwards taking advantage of the Nationwide Series.

It's underhanded being the only Sprint Cup ace surrounded by Nationwide Regulars.  Edwards, who just resigned with Roush, announced he would not be running the full season next year either. We don't know if that means Edwards will skip all of thee races again, or if he is going to do the right thing and cut back heavily for 2012.

(i) - Not Running for Championship

43 cars entered, which means all will make it.  Just a few notes this week.

#18- Michael McDowell will give it another go this week as he takes over for Kyle Busch this week.

#22- Sam Hornish Jr gets another shot at a Nationwide win.  The Indy 500 champion is still looking for a win.

#33- David Mayhew will drive for KHI this week. He's the closest thing they have to a developmental driver.

#39- Joey Gase will make his Nationwide Debut this week. Gase is an ARCA regular looking to make the leap.

#47- Brian Keselowski will start and park for Key Motorsports this week.

Tune into ESPN2 Live at 7pm eastern for the running of the US Cellular 250 from Iowa Speedway!  While your watching, log onto Nascar Ranting And Raving for the open race thread.  Enjoy!
