A lot of fans in Columbus were probably expecting to return to the tailgate by halftime, but the Buckeyes never could pull away from the Toledo Rockets. It wasn’t until the final minute when Toledo turned the ball over on downs just 16 yards away from causing 100,000 heart attacks in the Horseshoe that fans could relax.
Despite the near catastrophe, kudos to the Buckeyes faithful for giving the visitors their due:
