The Syracuse Orange are set to tip off against UNC Asheville on Thursday in the first round of the NCAA Tournament. The Orange are coming off a loss to Cincinnati in the Big East Conference Tournament, but will look to move to the next round of the East Region with a win over No. 16 seed UNCA.
The UNC Asheville Bulldogs will try to be the first No. 16-seeded team to ever knock off a No. 1 seed in the NCAA Tournament, as they come off mowing right through the Big South Conference Tournament, capping it off with an 80-64 victory over Virginia Military Academy. The Bulldogs lost only twice in conference play this season, but will be facing a much stiffer opponent in Syracuse.
