The Texas Longhorns are back in the NCAA Tournament despite a tumultuous season that saw them start slow, finish slow, but post impressive wins and finish with a 20-13 record in the Big 12, one of the best conferences in the country this year.
After opening the season with wins over Boston University and Rhode Island, the Longhorns lost back-to-back games to Oregon State and N.C. State and fell largely out of the national spotlight afterwards. Led by junior J'Covan Brown and freshman Myck Kabongo, the team quietly put together a decent season. Their best wins came against Iowa State and Temple, both of which are tournament teams. Texas also beat Iowa State, another tournament team, in the Big 12 tournament, which arguably clinched their place in the tournament, before losing to Missouri the next day.
The Longhorns are the No. 11 seed in the East region, where they'll take on the Cincinnati Bearcats in what should be a great first-round matchup.
