NCAA Tournament 2012, North Carolina Vs. Vermont: Game Time, TV Schedule And More

North Carolina faces Vermont, winner of a First Four game, in the NCAA Tournament on Friday.

The Vermont Catamounts picked up an NCAA Tournament win on Wednesday, downing Lamar in a First Four matchup in Dayton. As a result, Vermont gets the lovely gift of having to travel to Greensboro to face North Carolina, the No. 1 seed in the Midwest Region, for a Second Round game on Friday. As a reminder, a No. 16 seed has never beaten a No. 1 seed.

Vermont comes to the tournament by way of the America East Conference auto-bid, after putting away Stony Brook for the title last weekend. The Catamounts are a solid team, sure, but may very well find themselves in over their heads when they face off with North Carolina on Friday.

By now, you all know North Carolina, a traditional power and mainstay in the NCAA Tournament. The Tar Heels won the ACC regular season, topping Duke, but fell to Florida State in the tournament championship last weekend. Friday should serve as a nice tune-up for North Carolina as it looks to get back on track after the loss.

Here's the information for the Second Round matchup.

Game time: 4:10 p.m. Eastern, or 30 minutes after Alabama-Creighton ends.

TV coverage: TBS
