Friday's West Region second round matchup at the 2012 NCAA Tournament has reached halftime, with the Florida Gators leading the Virginia Cavaliers, 30-22, going into the locker room.
The Cavaliers led for the first 13:30 of the game, leading by as many as eight points as the Gators struggled to find any kind of offensive rhythm early on. Erving Walker eventually got going to lead the team with eight points and four rebounds at intermission. The Gators are shooting abysmally from long range, going 1-for-15 from beyond the 3-point arc. Lucky for them they are winning the rebound battle 21 to 13.
The Cavaliers haven't shot much better, going 0-for-7 on their 3-point attempts and shooting 37.5 percent from the field. They were held without a point in the last 3:50 of the half as a big lead turned into a big deficit. Mike Scott leads the team with eight points and four rebounds of his own.
