The Purdue Boilermakers are a decent basketball team. They are probably better than the Detroit Titans. Hopefully, they will perform the very effective function of making the Kansas Jayhawks turn off their cruise control. Many previous editions of Kansas basketball would have accelerated lightly in this situation, but this edition of Kansas basketball will slam violently on the breaks, then push the gas pedal to the floor, then slam on the brakes again, then floor it again.
Purdue probably doesn't have an answer for Thomas Robinson. They also didn't have an answer for either Rob Jones or Mitchell Young, but they managed to beat Saint Mary's anyway. Kansas is going to have to defend well and hit some outside shots to pull away from Purdue in this one, two things that they do in completely random and arbitrary intervals.
Robbie Hummel is still in college, by the way.
Game Date/Time: Sunday, March 18, 8:40 p.m. ET
Venue: CenturyLink Center, Omaha, Nebraska
