Redskins wide receiver Pierre Garcon continues struggle with a foot injury that he says has made it hard for him to run or push off on when running routes. The injury kept him out of Redskins' practice on Wednesday as the team prepares for a critical NFC East game against the Giants. The wideout said his foot even hurts when he's walking, according to John Keim of the Washington Examiner.
Garcon has been dealing with the injury since the first week of the season, and this week head coach Mike Shanahan described it as inflammation in the joint capsule under his second toe. Garcon has played in three of the Redskins' six games, with the injury a persistent limitation. He suffered a setback with the foot injury last Friday, forcing the Skins to make him inactive for Sunday's win over the Vikings. And it sounds like he'll be unable to go again this week in New York.
Keim reported that Shanahan said on Wednesday that the injury is "very much a mystery" with the organization unsure about his return and availability going forward.
