ESPN and the NFLPA announced on Tuesday that they've come to a multiyear agreement to broadcast the NFLPA Collegiate Bowl. The game is a pre-draft showcase for draft-eligible seniors, and is played at the Home Depot Center in Carson, CA, on the campus of California State University Dominguez Hills.
The agreement also calls for several hours of practice coverage to be shown in the days preceding the game. This year's practice coverage will be shown on Thursday, Jan. 17, on ESPNU.
Prospective NFL draftees playing in the Collegiate Bowl will be arranged into two teams, which will be coached by former Jets and Chiefs head coach Herm Edwards and former Rams head coach Dick Vermeil. The game also serves as an introduction for new members of the NFLPA to how the NFL works as a business.
The 2013 Collegiate Bowl will be broadcast on ESPN2 on Saturday, Jan. 19, at 6:30 p.m. ET.
