Stay connected with SB Nation

The 2012 NFL Combine begins on Thursday, February 23 in Indianapolis, but the first wave of players will report officially to Lucas Oil Stadium on Wednesday Feb. 22 for their pre-exam, x-rays, and orientation. The players will undergo a medical evaluation before the official weigh-in and measurements on Thursday Feb. 23, which will usually turn up any unforeseen medical conditions.

On Friday Feb. 24, the players will have an NFLPA meeting and then will undergo psychological evaluations with the place kickers and special teams players doing their workouts later in the day. On Saturday Feb. 25, the players in this first group will do their timing drills, station drills and skill drills.

Players at the combine are separated into groups, with the first group consisting of kickers, special teams players (i.e. long snappers), offensive lineman and tight ends.

All groups will follow the same four day schedule, with the final group consisting of defensive backs reporting on Saturday Feb. 25 and finishing up with their workout on Tuesday Feb. 28 to round out the NFL combine.
