Andrew Luck Talks Peyton Manning At NFL Combine

Stay connected with SB Nation

The courtship of Andrew Luck by the Indianapolis Colts has received mounds upon mounds of coverage as soon as it was clear that Indianapolis would finish the 2011 season as the worst team in the NFL. It's safe to assume that in the time since, Luck has given some thought about what it would be like to compete with Peyton Manning on a daily basis. At the 2012 NFL Scout Combine on Thursday, Luck made sure to heap as much praise as he could upon on his potential mentor.

"Peyton was my football hero. That's who I modeled myself after. You never replace a guy like that," Luck said. "Who knows what happens?"

He added, "If I have the opportunity to learn from a guy like that, of course, you're going to take advantage of it."

Luck won't be throwing at this year's Combine, which makes sense considering the top spot in the draft is all but his. He measured in at 6'4, 238 pounds on Thursday.
