Kendall Wright, expected to be one of the top wide receivers in the 2012 NFL Draft, raised some evaluators' eyebrows during the NFL Combine in Indianapolis in late February. The former Baylor Bears player ran a 40-yard dash with a time of 4.61 seconds at the Combine, far slower than many expected. Although NFL scouts stressed they were not concerned about the slow time, Wright likely put some minds at ease on Wednesday afternoon.
Baylor held their Pro Day on Wednesday, allowing scouts and evaluators to come take one last look at the Baylor athletes before the draft. SB Nation's Dan Kadar of Mocking the Draft was monitoring the Pro Day and reported that Wright ran the 40 twice, registering unofficial times of 4.46 and 4.43, much more in line with what scouts knew he was capable of achieving.
It remains to be seen whether Wednesday's performance will significantly raise the receiver's stock, but it certainly does not hurt.
