It has been known for some time now that the Cleveland Browns are very interested in former Alabama Crimson Tide running back Trent Richardson. With the 2012 NFL Draft just a week away, the consensus opinion appears to be that Richardson will be selected by the Browns in the first round, as the No. 4 overall pick.
According to Jim Corbett of USA Today, lead NFL draft analyst Mike Mayock is among the experts who feels that Richardson to the Browns is a near lock.
Mayock feels strongly the Cleveland Browns will select Alabama running back Trent Richardson, and not Texas A&M quarterback Ryan Tannehill. "Cleveland's going to have a hard time passing on Richardson at No. 4.'' Mayock said.
Richardson could potentially transform an offense by adding a strong running game and seems like less of an inherent gamble than selecting Tannehill might be.
