Syracuse Orange defensive end Chandler Jones will be entering the 2012 NFL Draft, which begins with the first round on Thursday. Jones has quite a family pedigree, as his brothers are Baltimore Ravens player Arthur Jones and UFC Light Heavyweight Champion Jon "Bones" Jones.
Late in April, Jones' stock in the draft was quickly rising, with Mike Mayock saying that the DE would be the best defensive player out of this year's draft in three years' time.
Chris Fedor of Sports Radio Interviews transcribed a recent interview Jones conducted with WNST in Baltimore. He was asked where he thinks he will be picked and although he is aware of the buzz, he is remaining realistic.
Right now they say I'm ranked and can go as high as the middle of the first round but I don't feed into that at all. I'm still expecting third round so if I do go higher everything will be a surprise.
If Jones is indeed picked in the first round, it will likely come as a big surprise to a lot of people, not least of whom being the player himself.
